Based in Leicester, De Montfort University Press (DMUpress) is an open access publisher of academic books, occasional papers and journals launched in 2020.

DMU Press gives public access to academic work in multiple formats. In partnership with our authors and editors, we publish in areas that reflect the teaching and research strengths of De Montfort University in art, design and the humanities; computing, engineering, and media; business and law; health and social sciences; and other subject areas. DMU press builds upon the culture, history and strengths of the academic community and alumni of the university.

Inspired by the movement towards open access our mission is to make journals and books free at the point of access in digital form giving them the widest possible dissemination, ensuring researchers globally can access scholarly materials without barriers.

DMU press provides free access to its online journals, monographs and books in a variety of digital formats. In addition to enabling digital access for the global community we also offer the possibility of purchasing our books in print, where we aim to ensure that prices are minimised for the reader.
